If you are not familiar with the World Economic Forum,it is an international organisation based in Switzerland that discusses global economic issues and publishes reports on them.
Prior to this, the report was released in 2020, after which the pandemic occurred, leading to layoffs. And now, this report has come out in 2023.
This report studies 803 big-daddy companies employing over 1 crore people. It talks about the overall growth and decline in jobs across the world, and this report also highlights which skills are in demand these days and which skills are not.
This report focuses on which jobs will grow and which jobs will be replaced, just like your ex. In the next 5 years, technology will lead to approximately 23% of jobs globally undergoing significant changes. 5 Jobs That Will Disappear By 2030 Due To AI

The highest job creation is expected to occur when businesses invest more in green energy and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. ESG refers to the initiatives taken by companies to assess and manage the impact of their operations on the environment and society.
It means that those who are considering a career in renewable energy, sustainability, clean energy, and similar fields are thinking in the right direction. Recently, there has been a lot of buzz and excitement around AI.
The report has said a lot about it. The CEO, Sam Altman, of the company that made Chatgpt, has said that if AI is not properly regulated, it can be dangerous for humanity. Now let’s find out how AI will affect jobs.
In short, it is said that AI will replace some jobs, but not as fast as people are predicting. In the previous survey conducted in 2020, it was estimated that nearly half of the tasks, approximately 47%, would be automated, but in reality, 34% of the work has been automated.
There has been a growth rate of only 1% in automation. Currently, 66% of work is still done manually by humans. It can be concluded that while AI is indeed growing, it may not be progressing at the rapid pace that some people have speculated.
Maybe the upcoming generation will have to think before applying for a job. But for you, it isn’t that dangerous; rather, AI is an advantage. It is a tool that you can use to be better at your job. Now, just like your job, upskill your investment.
There are two types of investments: short-term and long-term. There are several options in the market for long-term investment. But there aren’t many options for short-term investment. In the coming years, which careers will have the most scope?
The report also highlights which jobs will witness significant growth between 2023 and 2027. At the top of the list are Agricultural Equipment Operators, heavy truck and Bus Drivers, and Vocational Education teachers.
While on the one hand, machine learning, AI, and tech-related jobs will increase, on the other hand, clerical jobs will decrease.” Clerical jobs generally include roles such as Data Entry Clerks, accountants, bookkeepers, and Payroll Clerks, among others.
The term used in Hindi for the job of writing is ‘likh-padi ka kaam. These are the jobs that can be automated in the future, and the sooner you upskill yourself, the better. Now let’s understand, sector-wise, which jobs are in high demand.
Data Analysts and Scientists, Big Data Specialists, Business Intelligence Analysts, Database and Network Professionals, and Data Engineers The demand globally is projected to increase by 30–35%.
There is an expected 40% increase, equivalent to 1 million jobs, in the demand for AI and Machine Learning specialists. There is an expected growth of approximately 10% in jobs in the education sector between 2023 and 2027.
I should mention that this growth projection is primarily for non-G20 countries. It is possible that the growth may not be as significant in G20 countries, including India. The report has made several favourable predictions regarding the agricultural sector.
It is said that in the coming future, around 3 million jobs will be generated in the agricultural sector. Especially for those who operate high-tech agricultural machinery.
BTW, subscribe to my channel. Well, those who excel in analysis and calculations are indeed in a safe zone. Analytical skills are considered one of the most core and in-demand skills in the job market, as highlighted in the report.
So, individuals with strong analytical abilities are likely to have good prospects in various fields and industries. It means you should be proficient in analysing problems and finding their solutions. Apart from analytic skills, the second most in demand are creative skills.
If you’re a creative professional, be it in photography or videography, then there will be a demand for your creative skills in the coming future. Along with these major skills, companies also expect skills such as resilience, flexibility, agility, motivation, self-awareness, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
It is also important to be a good human; the company will look at your loyalty and honesty. So, to sum it up, the notion that AI will take over your job and automate everything is partly true but not entirely true.
Understand that your job will not be consumed by AI but rather by the one who understands AI. The need of the hour is understanding and learning how to use AI. At the moment, AI will make your job more convenient. Keep upskilling and improving your analytic and creative skills.
Don’t forget that in today’s time, a global recession is going on. If you’re in school or college, keep track of all these trends.
